What style of tattoo does Chad specialize in?
Chad works in custom black & grey — high-contrast, anatomically precise pieces drawn with the line discipline of a medical illustrator. He does not offer color work or walk-in flash; every piece is designed for the individual client and the specific placement on the body.
How do I book an appointment?
Start by submitting the consultation form on the main page with your idea, placement, and preferred dates, or call the studio directly. Chad reviews every inquiry personally and will follow up to discuss reference material, sizing, and timeline before a date is set and a deposit is taken.
Do I need to bring reference images?
Yes. References help Chad understand the direction, subject, and mood you are after — they do not need to be tattoo photos. Medical illustrations, photographs, sketches, or even written descriptions all help. The more context you provide in the consultation, the closer the first draft will be to what you want.
How should I prepare for my session?
Get a full night's sleep, eat a solid meal beforehand, and hydrate well in the days leading up to it. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication the night before. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed, and plan to sit for the length of time you have booked.
What is the aftercare process?
Keep the tattoo clean and gently washed, apply a thin layer of the recommended ointment, and do not pick at any scabbing or flaking. Keep it out of direct sun and avoid soaking it in water — no pools, baths, or ocean — until it is fully healed. Detailed aftercare instructions are provided at the end of every session.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes. A deposit holds your appointment date and reserves the drawing time that goes into your custom design. It is applied toward the final cost of the tattoo and is non-refundable, though it can be transferred to a new date with adequate notice.
Can you cover up or rework an old tattoo?
Often, yes. Cover-ups depend on the size, darkness, and placement of the existing piece, so an in-person or photo consultation is required to see what is possible. Black & grey work is particularly forgiving for reworking faded or older tattoos into something cleaner and more deliberate.
